R&D Introducers

Claiming R&D tax relief in the UK can sometimes seem a bit daunting and a bit of a mystery, especially for professionals that have not done so before.

Jeffreys Henry provide an end-to-end service, making claiming R&D credits easy for you and your client.

We work with accountants, solicitors, independent financial advisors and other professional partners throughout the UK, helping their clients make the most of R&D tax relief.

Whatever the field your clients specialise in, there’s a good chance they’re one of the 90% of businesses which aren’t claiming the full credit they can receive for their advances. At Jeffreys Henry, we’re partnering with Introducers to ensure that credit is given where due.

We operate through a non-poaching agreement and ensure the confidentiality of each case.

What do you know about R&D tax credits?

Like most people, you probably know very little about R&D. Regardless of the sector, any business is entitled to claim R&D tax relief on qualifying projects. Anything from developing or improving new products, to improving the sustainability of packaging will qualify for R&D tax relief.

The number of claims have risen year on year, with there being 48,635 claims for 2017-18 alone (data for this year is still incomplete and numbers are expected to increase). The final cost for 2017-18 is expected to be Β£4.950 million. The volume of claims made by SMEs is much larger than those under the large company and RDEC schemes, however the amount claimed by SMEs is generally lower in comparison.

LEARN MORE ABOUT R&D

How our service works

It’s simple. You refer your clients to us for their R&D claims, we begin the process and once the claim has been approved by HMRC and we receive our payment, you’ll receive your referral fee.

There are a lot of intricacies to R&D claims, and our specialist R&D team can do all the hard work for your clients. All you have to do is refer them. Whether your clients need a hand from start to finish, or just some guidance on the ins and outs of R&D, we’re here to help.

We operate through a non-poaching agreement and ensure the confidentiality of each case.

HMRC tackle SME R&D Tax Relief abuse

HMRC has released its review of R&D tax relief (also known as R&D tax credit), alongside details that confirm extra measures that will be put in place to end the abuse of R&D tax relief. Recent data suggests a loss of over Β£300 million due to fraud and error in R&D claims. In such cases, companies had claimed cash through the payable tax credit, despite having no R&D activity. Moreover, HMRC have also identified structures that had been set up with the intention to claim the payable tax credit, despite there being little employment or activity in the UK.
